There are so many other fantastic characters in this novel, and as readers, we are blessed to learn a more detailed history of quite a few from the last book.

Legacy (novel series)

As for the villain. Allegiance was a really good sequel idea for the story, but i just wish it was from another person’s POV. Clean language Clean romance Audio version fun to listen to. With lyrical and poetic prose, a relatable and heartening protagonist and a world of adventure far more vast than the world we live in, Legacy has all the makings of a fantastic fictitious world.

Some of the characters seem a bit too forgiving of what would be considered war crimes today and the story puts too much blame on the Overlord, who I feel sort of falls into the trap of being a cliched psychopath.

Allegiance (Legacy, #2) by Cayla Kluver

kluvver The ending was fair, not predictable and felt like it reached closer. He showed real maturity, putting his duty ahead of his personal wants and emotions. Also, when Miranna went missing Alera showed grief in short, sporadic moments but then her thoughts flittered to Steldor or Narian and I wondered how she could be thinking these things when her most beloved sister was being held, possibly tortured, by the enemy.

He seemed to have guided her when she seemed lost. He was raised as a Cokyrian with their beliefs, their culture, and their outlook on life. And oh my lord does that man have patience. The dialogue is practically non-existent unless is something necessary like “good evening majesty” etc.

He is leading the charge out in the streets, buildings are blowing up, townspeople are trying to break into the palace for safety, secondary characters we like are missing or dead. Eighteen is not freaking young, when a you know from birth that you are supposed to be a queen, b your country is being invaded how many times do I need to point that out?

I can’t wait for more! Yeah, if you guess he’s with the enemy and suddenly comes back and is the intruder mentioned in the description, you guessed right. I received this legay free of charge from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest dw. I just never got a handle on her and didn’t understand why she would do and say the things she did. Every time I read this book it felt like I was transported into a different time. Which is fine, and if that doesn’t bother you perhaps you’ll like the story, but it drove me crazy.

She sulks and cries until someone hugs her, then she hides in her room, where we have now spent probably of the pages in these two books. There were intriguing things happening, setting up what I thought would be an interesting tale of Alera defying the odds and taking control of her future just as the walls of her safe happy little world came crashing down admits a new war.

Will she be the ruler her kingdom needs her to be? I tried to avoid major spoilers and hide anything that might be spoilery, but you WILL get some spoilers for the first book.

There is no question that Legacy left one of the most uncool cliffhangers that I have ever faced in the history of reading. I liked Landon, one of said bodyguards, and for a while wanted her to end up with him despite the drastic age difference.

Mostly Alera pined for Narian, cursed Steldor, and tried to exercise her new role as queen with petulant attempts at independence. I know that this is the author’s story and I have yet to see its completion, but for now- I am rooting for Ve Pesto can be made all year long: Retrieved 30 April In a year or so after she gets more used to writing, kegacy right now? Nur mal so ein Beispiel: But for god shake’s, she is a queen now!

What is it good for? I have to admit this book had a darker feel to it, especially near the mid-point and after, I felt the drape of dreariness and remorse, so much happened in this book, so much that I had to read slowly to absorb it.

She finds self-worth as a person first, and as a woman next. London is a personal bodyguard whom I felt was an older brother to Alera. Assuming that she will spend her days with a man that she’s attracted to, yet does not actually love, Alera finds herself almost instantly drawn to a youthful intruder. It is an epic tale of forbidden love, loss, responsibilities, war, dark mysterious legends and two kingdoms so different from each other!

I started skimming through pages then skipping ahead because I honestly could not get into it. Mar 18, Trisha Legwcy rated se it was amazing. Because it’s stupid and no King would ever be good enough because they wouldn’t have any training whatsoever.

With each step he took, it pressed more painfully against my chest, trying to escape. And if anyone knows of a species of oak whose bark not only works as a painkiller, but a sedative as well, please share. When he ran off at the end, I was so excited. From the very first time he was introduced, I was in love. The fantasy world was amazingly written by Kluver. Other books in the series.
